Welcome To SESMA Beginners Martial Arts Tutorials

Welcome to SESMA’s free online martial arts videos where you can learn some of the basic moves of martial arts inc stretching, fitness, kicks, punches and some self-defence.
The video tutorials are available give you an insight to some of the great moves that are involved in Martial Arts.
Why not ask your parents or siblings to join in with you and you can practice together.

Remember though that martial arts are a form of self-defence and not to be used in the wrong way like picking on siblings or being a bully.

4-6 year olds Little Dragons Karate & Kickboxing

Little Dragons Control

Over View

Sensei Tom takes your Little Dragon through a Control class using basic karate techniques.

WE WILL TEACH YOU:

😀  How to have good technique 

 😀  How to hold a striking pad for your Little Dragon

 😀  Distance & Control

Setting up for your class

A focus pad or a soft item for them to strike i.e. a cushion.
A clear area where they can practice their techniques 

Little Dragons Coordination 2

Over View

This little tutorial use the the techniques they know to land in front and build up combinations.

we will teach you:

😀  Kicks landing in front

 😀  Building combinations

 😀  Helps Balance & Distance

Setting up for your class

All that is needed is their Little Dragon belt to make a couple of lines on the floor.

Little Dragons Coordination

Incorporating blocks and strikes with body movement to improve coordination and focus

WE WILL TEACH YOU:

 😀  Blocks & Counters

 😀  Body Movement

Setting up for your class

An item to that can be used for the student to jump over or duck under.
A piece of pipe foam pipe lagging is ideal.

Little Dragons Focus

Improving focus and speed with the use of clothes pegs.

WE WILL TEACH YOU:

Setting up for your class

You will need some space to move about and some cloths pegs. preferably coloured ones.

Before you start any Karate class, make sure that your muscles are warm and that you have stretched.

Wrist Grabs

How to release from 3 wrist grabs and how to use either the1-2-FLEE or the 3D’s of self-defence

Front Kick

Over View

The first kick that we teach at SESMA either in Karate or Kickboxing is the Front Kick. This video teaches the Front Kick & the Step-Up variation too.

back Kick

Over View

This tutorial is all about Back Kick and its stepping variation.
Mainly used as a defensive kick.

round Kick

Over View

The guys demo Round Kick. This kick is a little more challenging than the Front & Back Kicks. 
Takes a little more balance. 

blocks, slips & rolls

As well as being able to kick & Punch, we do need to be able to block too.
This video teaches some basic blocks and counters.

jab & Snap punch

Over View

Jab & Snap are the 1st hand techniques we teach. All of the front hand and simple to learn. Remember to keep your thumb out of your hand when making a fist.

cross & reverse punch

Over View

Now to punch off the back hand with the Cross & Reverse Punch. 
Learn to twist the body to make the punches longer.

Step-jab & Lunge punch

Over View

This tutorial teaches you to move forward to use the Lunge Punch & Jab. Again Remember to keep your thumb out of your hand when making a fist.
