Sensei Jo Morgan 3rd Dan Karate/Taekwondo
Jo (aka Josephine)
I started karate training after a year of being a parent on the side lines watching my son work through the grades. I decided to put that dead time to good use and continued even after my son decided not to continue several years later.
As well as running the Newmarket club and teaching karate I also teach piano, saxophone and music theory to students in the Newmarket area. When I’m not teaching something, I am a freelance marketer and work closely with the business community.
I have a Miniature Schnauzer and two cheeky kittens that take up lots of time but when I do have spare time I play sax in two jazz bands.
What do you enjoy most about martial arts?
Studying martial arts has made a real difference to my life and I enjoy helping others discover the same benefits. I particularly like helping students perfect their technique, develop their confidence and reach their own personal goals.
I became a 1st Dan in Tae Kwondo in 2007, since then I have helped many others achieve that goal. I want to continue to help students and develop their skills within the supportive environment at Sesma Newmarket.
