Kata Friday 1st May

This is the BEST class for learning and improving your katas

What is a Kata?

A Kata is a set sequence of moves to make a pattern and one of the fundamentals of martial arts.
The Katas have been passed down generations of instructors and will continue for many generations to come.
Katas help to learn blocks, strikes and stances, as well as helping improve memory, focus and self discipline.

Who needs to learn them?

Karate students Red/Black Stripe to Blue belt need to learn the rotation kata for their next belt.
2nd Blue Belts up to Black Belt need to learn their individual belt kata for their next belt.
Times
5pm Red/Black Stripe, Yellow & Orange Belts
6pm Green, 2nd Green Belts & Blue Belts
7pm 2nd Blue & Purple Belts
8pm Brown & Above

Parking at sesma

I appreciate that parking can be a little tight at the studio.

But please do not park or drop off in the IAN SMITH parking spaces or on their side of the cones, as they get a little upset and come through to complain to reception.

There is additional parking in the centre or the right side car park as you enter the estate.

Taverham Fayre Demo/Classes

Saturday 27th June - Times etc are yet to be fully confirmed

SESMA Sponsoring Young Achiever Award

🥋 Celebrating the Next Generation of Community Champions 🏆

Last year, SESMA Martial Arts had the honour of being nominated for the Business in the Community Award. Attending the awards evening was a powerful reminder of something we truly believe in…

There are incredible people in our community doing amazing things every single day — often without recognition.

That experience inspired us.

This year, we’re proud to be sponsoring the Young Achiever of the Year Award at the Broadland Community Awards 2026.

Because young people who step up, show kindness, lead by example, and make a difference deserve to be seen, celebrated, and remembered.

At SESMA, giving back has always been part of who we are.
And supporting this award is our way of shining a light on those young individuals who might otherwise go unnoticed… but are quietly changing lives around them.
