Starting university or college is an exciting step, bringing greater independence, new friendships and many new experiences.
To help students feel safer, more aware and better prepared, SESMA has created two free downloadable University & College Safety Guides. Each contains practical advice covering nights out, drink spiking, accommodation, travel, personal boundaries, digital safety, situational awareness, de-escalation and what to do if something goes wrong.
Some safety concerns and social pressures can affect people differently, so we have produced two tailored versions. Please choose whichever guide feels most relevant to you:
Female Safety Guide — for females and those who identify as female
Male Safety Guide — for males and those who identify as male
These guides are completely free to download, with no registration and nothing to buy. We simply want to help more students enjoy university and college life with greater confidence and awareness.
