Sensei Lynda

Senior SESMA Instructor

Brief Background
Originally from Derby, I moved to Norfolk in1994. I have been married for over 20 years and have two sons that have excelled through university and im very proud of them. I qualified as a Graphic Designer in 1980 and after 4 year in a design studio my career path changed and I used my graphic design skills to assist the teaching of sign language to deaf and hard of hearing children at the Royal School of the Deaf in Derby. This led to a role as an educational care officer. Since this time I have been primarily working in nursery, infant and junior school environments in either a teaching assistant or voluntary role.
I joined SESMA in 2003 and gained my black belt in December2007, 2nd Dan in June 2010, my 3rd Dan in December 2013 and my 4th Dan in 2018.

What do I enjoy most about martial arts?
Since gaining my black belt I have helped with the teaching of the Little Dragon classes at the studio, assisted in the After School Clubs that SESMA run at local schools and have been running my own classes. I enjoy passing on the benefits of martial arts to other children and find teaching very rewarding.

Future Aspirations
To work my way up the grades to black belt in Kickboxing. Assist my children their development in martial arts.

Likes
My other interests include archery, painting on silk and generally experimenting with different arts and crafts. I believe that life is to be enjoyed and that you must constantly challenge yourself and have fun.
