Sifu Colin

Senior Kungfu Instructor for SESMA

Brief Background was born in Norwich in 1976 and have lived here all my life. I started my journey into martial arts at the age of 8 when I trained in Taekwondo, after 2 years my instructor returned to Korea to continue his training. The Taekwondo class stopped once he left so I tried several different styles of martial arts over the next 5 years before I found a style at the age of 15 that best suited me. This was a 3 animal style kung fu called Huk Fu Lung Pi. In 2002 I achieved my first level black sash after some 11 years of training. In 2003 my instructor stopped teaching Huk Fu Lung Pi to devote himself to teaching the traditional Lung Gow and Pak Mei Kung fu. Since then I have been teaching on and off and training with other instructors to increase my knowledge base and continue my journey.

What do I enjoy most about martial arts?
I enjoy the continuous challenge and that there are no limits to what you can learn. No matter how high a level you achieve there are always new styles and techniques to learn and improve your skills

Future Aspirations
For the future I hope to be able to pass on my knowledge of kung fu to a larger base and continue my own development into martial arts.

Likes
I like training, football, reading and spending time with my family.
I dislike time wasters and bureaucracy
