Tommy Sleep out

One of our younger SESMA Superstars took part in a Sleep Out to raise money for the Royal British Veterans.

The fundraising event ” The Great Tommy Sleep Out” is to highlight that many of our veterans are homeless and sleep rough.

This is the second year that Janie (6) has helped raise funds by sleeping out under a tarp in the back garden with her dad.

This Janie planned to sleep out for 4 nights but ended up doing 6 through the cold, wind and rain, with some evenings hitting -1C.

With a goal to raise £150, Janie smashed that by raising £615.

Well done Janie, SESM are so proud of you.

SESMA Sponsoring Young Achiever Award

🥋 Celebrating the Next Generation of Community Champions 🏆

Last year, SESMA Martial Arts had the honour of being nominated for the Business in the Community Award. Attending the awards evening was a powerful reminder of something we truly believe in…

There are incredible people in our community doing amazing things every single day — often without recognition.

That experience inspired us.

This year, we’re proud to be sponsoring the Young Achiever of the Year Award at the Broadland Community Awards 2026.

Because young people who step up, show kindness, lead by example, and make a difference deserve to be seen, celebrated, and remembered.

At SESMA, giving back has always been part of who we are.
And supporting this award is our way of shining a light on those young individuals who might otherwise go unnoticed… but are quietly changing lives around them.

Comp Success

Today 4 of our students took their next step in grass roots martial arts competitions.

4 SESMA Students won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze

An amazing result, from small acorns big oak trees grow, maybe they will one day will become next SESMA world champions.

Supporting our local schools ❤️

SESMA Martial Arts had the pleasure of donating sensory equipment to Horsford C of E VA Primary School to support their morning sensory sessions.

These sessions help children develop important skills such as:
• Balance and coordination
• Focus and self-regulation
• Social interaction and teamwork

They also help children start the school day feeling calmer, more confident, and ready to learn.

Caitlyn Arnup, the school’s Sensory Lead, said:
“These sessions are so important for our children. The equipment helps them focus and gives them the best possible start to the day so they are ready for learning.”

Headteacher Tanya Kirton added:
“SESMA has been a valued part of our school community for many years. This donation is another wonderful example of how they support local children and get involved in the community.”

Supporting young people and giving back to the community has always been at the heart of SESMA, so it’s fantastic to be able to support the brilliant work the school is doing.

A big thank you to all the staff at Horsford Primary School for the amazing work they do for their pupils every day.

Previously, SESMA Martial Arts has donated basketballs and skipping ropes to Drayton Junior School.

SESMA, Supporting the community where it matters.

💙 Giving Back Where It Matters Most 💙

As you know, at SESMA Martial Arts, we believe in supporting our community both on and off the mats.

That’s why this month, we’re proud to donate £250 to Thrive Autism — an incredible local charity making a real difference.

Thrive Autism supports neurodivergent children, young people, and their families across Norfolk, providing practical help, guidance, and a strong sense of community.

Their mission is powerful:

  • To offer immediate support for families
  • To create opportunities for connection, respite, and understanding
  • And to build Norfolk’s first dedicated Autism Centre — a safe, inclusive space where every child can feel valued and supported.

This is exactly the kind of impact we believe in.

Because every child deserves the chance to grow in confidence, feel accepted, and truly thrive.

We’re honoured to play a small part in helping that happen.

Kids 1st Aid Course

Would your child know what to do in an emergency?

First aid training isn’t just for adults. Children aged 6–15 are more capable than we often realise — and when they’re taught properly, they can respond calmly and confidently in real-life situations.

Our Kids First Aid Course is designed to be practical, engaging and age-appropriate. We don’t scare children — we empower them.

They’ll learn:
✔️ How to stay calm in an emergency
✔️ How and when to call for help
✔️ Basic first aid for common injuries
✔️ What to do if someone is unconscious
✔️ Simple CPR awareness

Beyond the practical skills, something powerful happens…

Children grow in confidence.
They develop responsibility.
They begin to see themselves as capable and helpful.

Instead of feeling helpless, they feel prepared.

Places are limited to keep the sessions hands-on and interactive. If you’d like your child to gain skills that could one day make a real difference, message us for details or to reserve a space.
