We have some great events happening this year (see end of newsletter) including a new addition to our calendar … WKTA World Amateur Championships.
We have included more School Holiday Kata Workshops, Train & Grade Days and planning some holiday camps during August.
Oh! and don’t forget our 1st Awards Evening to celebrate our Students achievements and the SESMA Studio’s 20th Birthday.

WOW !!!! 356 Medals !!!!
Team photo of the competition squad with their haul of trophies and medals from the end of 2023 to date.
A total count of 356 medals and 142 of them being 1st place!
We will aim to reach the same success next season starting in January.
We’re looking at expanding, especially our kumite and kickboxing sessions so enquire in class if interested in joining the competitive side of martial arts and/or want to learn the sport side of things.
Well done all who contributed to this haul not all team members could make it but you’ve all done a great job

🚨 Free Internet Safety Workshops 🚨
3 Workshops available during February ½ Term

We’re excited to invite children aged 9+ and their parents to a FREE Internet Safety Workshop designed to:
✅ Highlight the dangers of social media platforms like Snapchat and TikTok.
✅ Teach practical tips to help protect our children from online harm.
This important workshop will be delivered by two Norfolk Police Engagement Constables, in collaboration with SESMA Martial Arts.
Together, we’ll ensure you and your children have the knowledge to stay safe online.

Many of you sit and watch your child learn & have fun in the karate classes.
Why not join them on the mat and have fun too.
Many parents have taken that scary first step and have enjoyed so much that they wished they did it sooner.
Martial arts is a great way to bond with your child, learning and having fun together and the bonding doesn’t stop on the mat, it continues at home to.
Plus the added benefit is that your body gets fitter, your mind gets sharper and you are learning to defend yourself.
If you would like to join your child on the mats, speak to reception and we will size you up for a suit and 1/2 price membership, it’s as easy as that.
The hard bit is taking that 1st step.
Black Belt Gradings
Karate Black Belts Grading will also be held at SESMA on Saturday March 29th

If you are wanting to grade for your Black Belt, you must see your instructor for a Permission To Grade Slip.
Train & Grade Days
Karate & Kickboxing Extra Train and Grade
Only for karate yellow, Orange, Green, 2nd Green, Blue Belts
For those who may not have been ready the previous grading and for those who want to get ahead, we are running a special training and grading days which allow people an extra grading. It involves a 4 hour training session, followed by a free grading.
The training session will be run by min of 2 instructors, and will cover all the things that are on the syllabus for the next grade.
This option is only available for a limited amount of students, so it is basically a first come first served situation. If you are interested in this, please put name & grade on an envelope with payment and pass to your Sensei. The price is £75 per person
Please bring a drink, snack & lunch as there will be breaks during the day to keep their energy and concentration up. No fizzy drink or sweets.
Attending the 4 hours training does not guarantee that you will pass the grading.
