Motivational Monday – Courage to be YOU
Last night I went to a Drag show at the Waterfront to watch some of the contestants from the TV series RuPauls Drag Race
It was a great evening of entertainment, but what struck me the most was how happy everyone was.
There were people in the audience dressed up as pixies, glitterballs, in 60’s garb and colourful makeup. A complete mix of people out to have fun and be themselves.
What everyone had in common was that they had the courage to be themselves, no worrying about how sociality would look at them or judge them.
That kind of made me think, on how much we are judged in society. The way we dress, what car we drive, our body types and what kind of parent we are.
We need to step back from conforming to others and have the courage to be ourselves.
So this week, let a piece of hidden you come out to play and have the courage to be YOU.
