SESMA Martial Arts norwich karate kickboxing too tired for classes

Back to School

Back to School.

We all know that when the children go back to school, it is a little relief for the parents, back to normality.

But as I posted on FaceBook, your children are going to be tired till they get back in to a normal routine.

This could take a few weeks. So please be patient with them and ease them back in to their clubs.

Too much to quick and they will struggle and give up on their clubs when they don’t really want to, just that they are tired.

SESMA have been awarded as one of the best 3 martial art schools in Norwich by the Three Best Rated company.

Sunday 12th September

Come and join us for a Treasure Trail in Wroxham

After you have solved all the clues and found the treasure, you could then join us for a picnic.

Im not sure on the parking in Wroxham so meet at the Visitors Centre Station Rd, Hoveton, Norwich NR12 8UR at 10am

Each family will be given a booklet containing clues and directions with a mission answer grid to help break the code and save the day.

Approx 1.5 hours of clue finding and then if interested a picnic after.

Those that have taken part on these with us before have all enjoyed, with many looking forward to the next.

No prize for the winning team or the 1st to complete, just Bragging rights.

Children's 1st Aid Course

SESMA Martial arts norwich childrens 1st aid course

Only 20 places available

We have had a lot of interest in this course, im just waiting back from Andy the course organiser for a date and time.

SESMA are organising a Children’s 1st Aid course to run in the October 1/2 Term.

Andy Anderson First Aid at Work will be running the course and he has kindly agreed to donate the cost of the course to a very worthy cause…the Norwich Air Ambulance.

We have already a few students parents showing interest for their children to join in on the 1st Aid course.

We tend to forget that we are just as important as our children, and if we were to have an accident or collapse, wouldn’t you want to know that your child could help you?

Saturday 23rd October 9am-12pm
Cost £10 for single child, further siblings £5 each

Are you worried about your grading and that you are unsure of your Katas?

With karate grading Sunday 26th September, Yellow belt and above students really need to remember their katas and have them looking good, if not, we will not be allowing students to grade, which could be a disappointment to them.

Sesma had put on extra kata training days during the summer holidays to help students who may either need to learn their katas or just need that extra tweak to make them look good.

There is a KATA training day Friday 3rd September
4pm Yellow & Orange Belts
5pm Green & 2nd Green Belts
6pm Blue & 2nd Blue Belts
7pm Purple & Brown Belts
8pm 2nd Brown & Above

The katas are also available to view on the SESMA Members Portal.

Women's Self Defence Workshop

SESMA were asked to provide 2 Women’s Self-defence Workshops for the community organinsed by Stacy Bradley TLC – Transforming Local Communities.

After an incident in the area of a man asking women for sex and exposing himself, Stacy felt that the community would benefit from some basic awareness and self-defence.

18 women took part in the workshops and all felt more confident and empowered.

Thank you to Stacy for organising and to Sensei Lynda for assisting on the workshops.

Details of the workshop: Women’s Self Defence

Breakasaurus T-Rex

Recently received an update of our Breakasaurus T-Rex from Jurassic Park on the Isla of Nublar.

We will be collecting our little T-Rex in October where we will be have to name and come up with a design for it.

Past GoGo Trails:
We were luckily enough to do the Dragon trail in 2015 which was great fun and brought together many of the sesma students.
The students draw designs for the Dragon & pasted their designs on to the dragon (see photos).
We also had Dragon trail picnics, competitions and other fun activities for the whole family.
We are looking at doing the same with our Breakasaurus T-rex.
