I hope that you all have had a great Christmas and ready to start the New Year with a super positive mindset.
The Instructors are ready to Kick Start the new year with some more awesome sessions.
We have some new ideas and extras coming this year too, starting with a new Student App (details further in the newsletter) Holiday Activities, Family Events, Seminars/Workshops and a Christmas Extravaganza/Awards Evening for all the family. with a display of martial arts from the students/instructors.

KATA Friday 5th January
For Yellow Belts & Above
SO MANY students have benefited from attending these friday sessions.
Kata is the foundation of martial arts, it not only helps with learning blocks and strikes, but also improves memory, discpline and focus.
For students that are on the Advance /Elite packages (2 classes per week) there is the dedicated KATA class that concentrates solely on your grade and kata.
Each class has 2-3 instructors to help you get your kata its best, but you will still need to practice at home too.
We are extremely awesome instructors, but you still need to do some work yourself.
Yellow belts and above will need to perform the new kata for their next belt.
The katas are also available to view on the SESMA Members Portal.

We are so happy to announce that we have a brand-new student app! It’s called myTraining and it will let you manage and track your martial arts training 24/7! You will be able to:

Looking to get fit or lose a few xmas pounds?
I have lost a lot of fitness and found lots of weight over the period that i was unable to train due to my hip needing replacement.
Now that i have a new one, im keen to get back to my former self.
I was wondering if some of you would like to join me in getting fitter and slimmer.
I will be posting a monthly fitness workout plan that you can do at home in your own time.
There are also healthy eating advice/recipes and other workouts available on the Members Portal.
If you need a little “accountability”, I will set up a SESMA Fitness FB group for those that need that extra little bit of support, which im one off.

Female Kickboxing Morning Classes
Female Kickboxing/Fitness/Self Defence Morning class
Kickboxing fitness every Wednesday 10-10:45am starting January 10th

Instructor Hannah Earley, is a SESMA Kickboxing Black Belt, works as a fitness professional instructor for David Llyod and ATP Matt Phillpot.
The classes will incorporate the teaching of kickboxing, combination of different types of fitness (fat burn/strength/toning) and self defence.
Here are some other benefits of kickboxing:
Improved Cardio – Toning & Strength – Flexibility & Mobility – Aids Weight loss – Social with other like-minded ladies – Self-Protection & Confidence
Our women’s kickboxing is a great all round fitness class and as well as burning those calories, you will be building your confidence and learning to defend yourself.. if ever the need arises.
Wednesday’s included: 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st January, 7th & 14th February
For those that may not be able to commit to the 6 weeks, there is a 4 week option, you just attend 4 of the 6 sessions.

Reception Staff Member Vacancy
We currently have a position available to join our reception team at SESMA.
The role includes greeting current students and new students as they arrive/leave the studio, admin work, and general office tasks.
Hours: Mondays 3:30pm – 8:30pm
Must be competent with using a computer and be of a smiley happy nature for greeting people.
If you have a DBS or 1st Aid Cert that would be a bonus.
